I'm really sorry to hear that. This post is bringing back memories of my uncle. He had a two year battle with battle with brain tumour, and he was the smartest person I know, Principal scientist at Qualcomm. After learning about his terminal cancer, I didn't know what to do. I distracted myself with work not knowing how heart broken I was. Finally after two months, it took a very intense yoga class to break me open and let out the tears and face the grief of losing him. As others have mentioned, talking to a therapist will help you navigate the feelings so that you can be more present with her, in whatever capacity you can.
