When a friend was doxxed, I helped him get the problematic material excluded from current Internet Archive results. It was easier than I had anticipated. The volunteers who helped me were intelligent and humane. Keep in mind that at its core Internet Archive is a library that preserves and shares information. My friend was happy to have his personal information temporarily suppressed, but didn't try to change the permanent record. History will be history. He loves and cherishes libraries and has no objection to future researchers seeing his personal information 50 years from now. It's a great institution that we should protect and cherish. |
