That was my first thought as well. The number of scam calls and robocalls is such a problem these days that ignoring calls from unknown numbers has become a habit. I'm usually polite enough to google the number and call back if it's something that deserves attention, but I can imagine that that's probably not your first priority when you're busy hiking on top of a mountain.
