Ok. This piece of information alone should have been in the first part of the article.

Two Year warranty I am assuming AppleCare+? If that is case, not fixing it seems unusual.

It may be that it’s 2 years in original country of purchase and not the us. A few countries require a multi year warranty by default.
Is that case? As far as I am aware, Globally even in UK or EU where multi year warranty are required by law, Apple still only list one year warranty [1]. And you have to explicitly tell Apple that by law they need to repair it.

They explicitly say this warranty is on top of statutory warranties.
