Politically speaking, this can only be a victory for the governor. In conservative political theater, any association with "standing up to the liberal media" is valuable. Furthermore, if/when this whole thing fails in the courts, either conservative voters will never know about it, or the legal defeat will only contribute to the "standing up to the liberal media" narrative. At this point, it's all about getting on Trump's radar in order to secure his VP nomination in 2024. I totally believe that's what's going on here - political posturing. |
