When I see the version numbers I know some form of bullshit self promotion is right there. Traditionally this marketing (stupidity) applied to nonsense in the advertising and social media space. In the case of AH I can see it applied to crypto as Andreessen was an early advocate for bitcoin. It’s like marketers need some form of extended technical credibility applied to what is otherwise an empty finance/investment scheme regardless of the actual underlying product.

Let’s not forget that originally the version numbers described new approaches to the technology: Web 2.0 for SaaS and REST, Web 3.0 for semantic data technologies.
