I laughed a bit at this. I guess a recruiting tactic is to now advertise the exciting possibilities of burnout? "Come join Facebook because you can totally change the ethical direction of this billion dollar surveillance behemoth from the inside, one commit at a time. ;)"

My favorite line of reasoning from the article was that folks hold no civic duty to work on the inside for the megalomaniac that is the Zuck. I do find out very empathetic that the author understands why folks would stay employed there: it pays super well and people have obligations.
