At some point it's time to start trimming your resume. I mean, unless you're applying for your first real job or something, no one cares about how you worked at McDonalds when you were in high school (I sure didn't, when I was reading resumes... if they're that anal, you probably don't want to work there anyway). 10 years is Long Enough, especially in this field. I'd recommend labeling the section "Recent work history" or maybe "Relevant work history" and then ending it with "Further work history furnished upon request". The odds of them asking for "further work history" are very small (unless the company is completely dominated by HR... which, of course, some are). If none of your jobs before this one were in software, none of them are really relevant, or so I see it. |
