People are older than you think... especially your parents. If you don't spend time with them now because you're busy in academia, pursuing startup ideas, getting rich, then one day you'll end up wealthy and well educated but alone wondering if you made anyone proud.

If you think it's hard to find friends in your 20s and 30s, imagine being in your 50s or 60s so say yes to going out now, because in the future... they're not all going to be around.

Depends on your perspective. I know a guy in his 90s that was dancing with some 20s-30s girls to new music that never existed when he was even 50. Having an open mind and embracing change can help you meet people of different ages.
