We absolutely do not have a shortage of gas (petrol, as we like to call it). It's just not in the right place because we have a lorry driver shortage - and the media has created a toilet-paper style panic that's caused everyone to try to buy as much as they can, all at the same time.

They could equally have said "we're running out of milk!" and we'd have a milk "shortage".

Seeing no milk at the supermarkets across the country does indeed mean milk shortage.

Btw congratulation on your Goebbels level politicians. Grant Shapps, Secretary of State for Transport: "Not only are there very large and even larger shortages in other EU countries like Poland and Germany, which clearly can’t be to do with Brexit, but actually because of Brexit I’ve been able to change the law and alter the way our driving tests operate in a way I could not have done if we were still part of the EU.". Somehow no gas shortages in Germany/Poland to speak off in the real world.
