Your end point may or may not be right, but the logic here pretty clearly doesn't hold

Cars have advantages that a clear majority of drivers, wannabe drivers, and economists would tell you about - driving to work, for pleasure, shopping, giving freedom etc. Motoring deaths per US inhabitant per year is 0.01%

It's very hard to claim that Instagram has anything close to same number of advantage as motoring
