A couple of times I have been tempted to convert my daily-use computers to bcachefs, but this item on <https://bcachefs.org/> has consistently dissuaded me: > We currently walk all metadata at mount time (multiple times, in fact) - on flash this shouldn't even be noticeable unless your filesystem is very large, but on rotating disk expect mount times to be slow. Has there been any progress on this front? Most of my disks are spinning rust, and I don’t expect that to change soon. Also, any other reports on how production-ready this is? |
