It's important to understand that there's only one news. Rest everything that different news outlets publish are perspectives. It's a classic example of the elephant and 10 blind men. A news is a one time event observed in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd person perspective. When news outlets start acting as businesses, the need for differentiation leads them to dig out the different interpretations of the same event and report those that have higher probability of capturing public attention.
Reading multiple interpretations of the same news could feel like something really big and noteworth has happened. In effect, it's the same news being reported everywhere. |
