That seems to be the case where I live as well, though I believe there is a way to lock in an interest rate for longer. (Not a homeowner) If interest rates rise to 6% and you've got 2.5%, the advantage would last that long. However, I know interest is front-loaded to the first few amortization periods, so maybe it would be more significant. |
