Been using DAWs for 20 years now. Of course they aren’t changing... what even should change? They work, and do what they’re supposed to. Most plugins these days are stable, and don’t crash. I haven’t had issues in like 10 years honestly. At least if you’re paying for them from groups who have a reputation. Git for a music project would be detrimental, going to be really honest. Linux can run things just fine. JACK has been a relatively stable audio platform. RT pre-emption can help. The only issue with Linux I see is software support. But with Apple making some less than stellar choices, I expect linux to become more important to the daw/digital recording ecosystem One fantastic one that does work well on linux (reaper) also has a scripting interface. Not a CLI but actually more useful. |
