This is what I like about it so much (I'm currently reading it)! I'm by no means a fan of Adam Sandler, and also not so sure that he would be the best modern analogy, but in my opinion, the book gives the vibe of a very early, written sitcom. Everything Don Quixote does is so absurd, and so many people around him realize it but just play it off or are simply baffled. For my own enjoyment I have however seen that the translation that I use is really important. I'm reading it in German, and the new translation by Susanne Lange is much more pleasant to read than some other older translation I have in digital form. |
