This is not to downplay the serious and growing impact of China on global GHG emissions, just that casting coal as only a China problem is inaccurate and does not move us toward a solution.

Excellent. Now I would recommend looking at the rate of change for each country in recent years to see even more clarity.
It would be a lot easier to just make the point you are trying to make.
