programmers who have a good understanding of scheme and SICP are likely to pick up programming in python (or equivalent such as C#, Java, etc.) anyway - either on their own, or through industry experience. it is a shame that csci is shifting away from teaching fundamentals to teaching syntax. it would be like teaching art with color-by-numbers. |
