Ask HN: Is there no natural language input to create Google calendar events?

I've spent some time exploring but I can't find a natural language input to Google Calendar.

To be clear, I want to be able to enter/copy paste/highlight text like:

"Let's do the week of 27th this month. Does it work for me to come at 4:30 in the afternoon on the 29th?"

And it creates an invite.

I can't find this anywhere.

The quick add-on functionality to Google Calendar is now gone, as far as I was able to tell. (Described here: https://www. gtricks.com/calendar/5-Google-Calendar-Tips-Know/)

You are correct: it was pulled from the UI a few years back. But the API still exists. Not sure if it’s good enough for that level of parsing but give it a try!

Any insight into why this happened? Patent trolls, etc?
