Parallel computing's actually progressed pretty far. Virtually all GPU-based applications (unfortunatly, cyptocurrency mining being the most notable) are massively / embarassingly parallel. As far as practical applications --- the set is vastly smaller, especially where there's a human in the REPL loop. |
