First, there are people who attempt to have discourse on important subjects on Twitter. Whether you think that is silly is irrelevant. Second, the point is that /any/ comment made or repeated by someone on Twitter, if found to be improper by some standard by some mob, can hurt you in all walks of life, so people keep quiet everywhere, lest they be "retweeted" out of context. |
