An important addendum is that if you leave any part of the knife exposed (such as knife on the inside of pocket, but clip on the outside) that is considered "brandishing" and can trigger a stop by the police. This is a common pretext for a stop and frisk. When I lived there I switched to a Case folding knife so I wouldn't accidentally run afoul of this law. |
