187k of very compressible strings, producing a small array in memory, in exchange for avoiding all the costs of a web service seems like an excellent trade off. 187k seemed quite expensive, the file actually drops to 49k with Brotli and removing whitespace. Sorry if this put a backend team out of a job, but I definitely approve of this design. The other number normalization defects could just as easily be fixed client-side |
