The assumption that “democracy” will be pro-fundamentalist is problematic on two fronts: - A lot of protests are anti-Islamic. - Democracy is still bound by its constitution to protect the minorities, so a democratically elected fundamentalist government that is bound by a proper constitution can still be a viable regime. |
