It's kind of ironic, considering all the dire things experts say about software patents stifling innovation, but when one looks closely at the software business, the most striking thing is how little patents seem to matter. This is not true any more. At least some developers withdrew from the US market because of patents fear (specifically, mobile app developers) - this is a business changing phenomenon. |
