Money isn't everything. It is true that at this point in your life you seem to be using money as the sole yardstick by which to compare the relative worthiness of others against yourself. Having spent significant time with very wealthy individuals in the past, I can tell you that most of them are unhappy. The conspicuous consumption for which they're infamous is one way for them to paper over the inner void which sucks joy out of their lives. You'll need to learn to see beyond the superficial. Money and status are fleeting in the grand scheme of things. What else do you have going on? |

Also in a literal sense. Many people cannot manage huge amounts of money - see top level sports people losing fortunes. Others don't know how to live a normal life or lose drive for creativity afterwards. (I think that's what happened with Notch? I can't find the article now...)
