This is exactly the event that I’ve been preparing for. I figured out long ago that it’s not a matter of if, but when, Apple fully embraces the surveillance economy. This seems to be a strong step in that direction. As dependant as I’ve been on the Apple ecosystem, I’ve been actively adopting open source solutions in place of the Apple incumbents so that when I have to fully pull the plug, I can at least soften the blow. In place of Mail: Tutanota
In place of iMessage: Signal
