So I was asking around how mRNA vaccines got approved after being blocked in approval process for so long, and a little earlier came across this

tech started getting researched in the 1990s, scientific papers started getting published in 2005, Moderna and Pfizer started around 2010. Around 2018 is when they went public. Covid happened and expedited the vaccine approval process. Seems like they found out in 2018 the mRNA technology was only ready for vaccines. ie 1-2 shots because of adverse effects. So they shifted to vaccines in 2018.
