A lot of new employees have either relocation or signing bonuses, that would have to be repaid if they left the company within 1-2 years. Compounding this, the bonus is usually given out pre-tax but has to be repaid post-tax. So sometimes there really isn't an option but to finish the year(s) or take a big financial hit. |
