The primary issue with TikTok is that it is Chinese. That is why the US state department and the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) “studies” it. It is fairly obvious the issues with influencers creating messed up body images in their followers are far bigger on Instagram. If anything the Tiktok algorithm, its short video form, and tighter moderation mixes things more up, and makes the issue less prevalent there than on other more simpler platforms. |
