We live in states that aren't exactly homogenous and yet, I still see the reasoning as being somewhat sound given that societies are usually bound and directed by a smaller proportion of the population than the general entropy would lead one to believe. That inner critical mass, if compromised, could indeed result in a weaker ability of that society to recover and survive against external forces. In more laymen's terms, when the clergy start tickling the youth inappropriately, the entire church is doomed. |
