How large is your paper-based knowledge base and how extensively are your documents interlinked?

I have a personal knowledge base that currently includes 6,000-7,000 Org files that contain my notes on the thousands of subjects that I've studied during the past couple of decades, and all of these files are interlinked using hierarchical tagging. I've encountered numerous people over the years who use paper for notes, and when I ask them how large their knowledge bases are and how extensively are their documents interlinked, their answers are always very unimpressive.

You are using Org Mode, this is imba and really better than anything else. Btw, does anybody needs memories older than couple monthes ago? My experience tells me that it is OK to abandon old notes after finishing a project, thats why I have never more than 100-200 written pages in quick access.

I think the idea of a palm pilot with a stylus was before its time. I have a hard time using a mobile phone keyboard to take notes, but I also don't want to take notes purely on paper for the reasons you've mentioned. A small form factor input device with a stylus (like galaxy note) with ML handwriting detection and widespread adoption from note-taking apps would be wonderful. I'm not on the Android ecosystem and therefore feel like I can't take advantage of the small product offerings in this space.
