> The US always claims to have the best cyber-warfare capability on the planet, so presumably they could do ransomware better and faster than gangs like REvil. The US should use this capability to mount ransomware attacks against US companies as fast as they can. As ridiculous as this sounds, a private sector version could work. Imagine 'hacking' companies that audit municipal services and private companies. The hackers would have to be motivated to win, by payment, not just go through a security checklist. Insurance and law could demand this sort of active and ongoing security check. This would also create diversity in hacking systems instead of one governmental set of tools and strategies. |
