Well said. Something being 'the law' isn't an argument for or against anything in itself. In fact in extreme cases the official law can be extremely immoral and - after a regime change - itself criminal. Regarding the US example, free speech laws were certainly not written with the intention of giving powerful companies the ability to censor public debates, since they moved from the town squares onto their digital platforms. Also corporations are not people! |
