| SEEKING FREELANCER | REMOTE (but we're in the Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA area) Impact Upgrade is a software engineering and consulting company that solely focuses on nonprofit organizations and for-good businesses. We're releasing a product called Nonprofit Nucleus, which is our automation engine for nonprofit processes. Think of it a little like Zapier in that it handles integrations between platforms, but the capabilities go way beyond that. We provide all the best-practice business logic for various types of flows that are often needed in nonprofit operations. The core framework is in place, as are many of the primary use cases -- all in Java. But we have a steady stream of new features to add and/or new platforms to integrate with. I'd love having help with that. It'd be a fair amount of prototyping work, but then ultimately baking the concepts right into Nucleus and working through integration tests. We're also diving deep into scaling and hardening, so we could use help with instrumentation, fault tolerance, durable queuing, etc. Nucleus also has a Portal/UI provided on top of it, currently built with Python, Django, and bits of JS. New features often require some front-end work if controls are needed. In addition to all that, we continue to have unique projects pop up, usually backend heavy or full-stack web apps. However, we normally try to stick to similar stacks: Java/Kotlin, Python + Django, simple JS, PHP on rare occasions, and we're ok with node.js. We're looking for agencies or groups that could work with us regularly. We currently have enough work that I could keep them busy on at least a part time basis. (That's a full-time hire listing we made a while back. Although it'd obviously be different in this setup, it at least gives an idea of the types of things we're looking for: https://www.impactupgrade.com/hiring#senior-software-enginee...)
