This is great. I have been trying to figure out what a MVP is. Is a landing page with a description of your product and a sign up form considered a MVP?

If you are in the landing page business, then yes. Otherwise no.

No, that would be more like a dry test. They serve similar purposes in some ways, very different in others. Tim Ferriss is very keen on dry testing - see 4 hour work week.
