> These are edits of popular movies that take place over the span of about 10 minutes but instead of being uploaded for review or critique, they instead aim to make viewing the original movies unnecessary.

If a 10 minutes summary is enough so it is not worth to see your movie, maybe the problem of your movie is not the 10 minute summary.

Maybe we should be able to sue movie makers if the movie quality is not up to pair with the trailer. False advertisement is not legal, even in Japan. That way people would not need to look to 10 minutes summaries to know if watching a movie is going to be a waste of money and time.

This sounds like a crazy level of entitlement. It’s sucks if I make something shitty but I’m not entitled to make it for you or anyone.
Is it any more entitled than people running a corporation thinking that it is acceptable behavior to push for the government to imprison someone for making unauthorized copies of a film?

I think the original comment wasn’t really meant in sincerity, but rather serves to point out the absurdity of the whole situation.

Yeah, up there with threatening legal consequences for making a 10 minute summary video.
But won't you think of their profits?! /s
