A large enough project needs juniors and seniors. It's OK to be one but not the other. The juniors don't necessarily need to understand the project in a big-picture sense. But somebody does.
I don't see how not being emotionally invested in a project would mean you can't understand or even design the big picture of it. Feels a bit straw man-ish.
