And the best solution is extremely popular: Tax carbon production, and use 100% of that tax revenue as a Universal Basic Income (or Negative income tax, same thing)

A price on carbon is a part of the solution but not sufficient at this point, so it’s not the “best”.

It’s too late and the price would have to be too high ($100s per ton) to be a main driver. We squandered those opportunities long ago.

It needs to be paired with robust policy to develop, deploy, support, and mandate decarbonization across sectors.

Markets move to slow to save us.
