I think they meant “lost” as in “not participating” not “lost” as in “dead” I haven’t looked up the change in labor force stats myself, but they’re not simply the total number of living people in a certain age bracket. There are plenty of people between 18-65 who aren’t part of the labor force: i.e: disabled, retired, stay-at-home, incarcerated, etc. |
