Corporations like Facebook and Google do far more surveillance of any citizen than the government does. Surveillance capitalism. https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2019/03/harvard-profe... Russia surveilles its citizens mostly any way it wants. The US government has more controls (as long as the US remains a democracy.) The Church Committee actually made real reforms. And sadly, everything that Snowden writes now is approved by the Russian intelligence services. You can decide how that influences what you think of his writing. |
