Most of the jobs at the SW industry are traditional office jobs, specially in consultancy companies. There is a task that has to be done. That's all. Nobody wants to be responsible for the problems that may appear after applying a "novel" methodology. And that is perfectly normal. At the end of the day most people want to have their job done and go home. As a personal recommendation, if you are in a job where you observe many overcomplicated practices, stale methodologies, and a lack of innovation the best thing you can do is to look for another position. You may be surprised but there are more people like you around there. |
