It's truly an insane decision by the IoC and I'm sure the backlash will hurt the trans community. This is a privileged white male, the son of a billionaire (Dick Hubbard, founder of Hubbard foods) who didn't transition until they were 35. Prior to that they were a washed up male competitor who would never in their dreams make the Olympics. And now, they are displacing one of the best female weight lifters. No wonder people are pissed.

This is pretty mean spirited. If "privileged white male" is going through hormone theory, then I don't think that's very privileged (privileged white male is an awful term) The technology here is still rudimentary, rich or not. This is not Altered Carbon.

You're right, I misread and her father is indeed a multi millionaire not a billionaire. I can see how the phrase "privileged white male" can be loaded so I probably should have chosen different wording. However it is true in this case, and an important part of why people are angry.
