I'm currently working on my Master's thesis related to implementing propensity score matching for program evaluation in the child protection service system. I cannot stress enough how important #1 is above. The most important part of making causal inferences in an observational experimental setting is identifying and collecting the variables associated with the treatment and outcome. It is easy to conceptualize but much harder to do in practice. |
