I have no advice on how to deal with this, but I looked at the company site, and am having a hard time figuring out how a simple scan/ lookup can be patentable. Bar coded scans at cash registers have been doing this for decades.

I suspect this will start to hurt US capitalism. who wants to start a company only to get sued at every turn.
