As a dyslexic, what you say is interesting. I think this font is a step in the right direction, for at least causing greater awareness. But I would like to try and read a short story in it, and see if it helps. A dyslexic does not necessarily know that they are reading something wrong, and spelling can be extremely difficult. Words like 'pleasant', are still extremely hard words for me to spell. So I don't think teaching Mikey multiple spellings would make it any easier for him to spell, but at least he would have a greater understanding of what's going on. I use text-to-speech technology to read most material on the internet, and find that that helps the most for me right now. |
