There's likely a confounding variable. As someone who runs in circles with a lot of founders, what drives people to start companies is general life dissatisfaction and a search for meaning that they aim to find by taking the leap to start their own company which they hope will create meaning in their lives. Given that 80-90% of startups fail, it's like the old xkcd.
