That sounds like a very unhelpful response. People with ADHD are known to suffer much higher rates of divorce, because ADHD is largely emotional dis-regulation. ADHD is often ignored in 'high-functioning' adults who present with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues but it is often the root-cause of these problems. If a therapist suggest at least exploring ADHD then assume they have very good reason to do so! |
