Sounds like an untestable non-falsifiable theory. Similar to nuclear deterrence in that regard; it reminds me of the doctrine that one should cultivate a persona that appears more irrational than you really are when nuclear weapons are involved.

In short, it's closer to outright sophistry than science to introduce the quasi-religion which is a sort of a put down that has no basis in fact.
