Here's the biggest issue: none of this is is scientific. None of it is quantifiable, none of it is repeatable, none of it is falsifiable. Oh, I'm sure you can take a lab rat, vivisect him, introduce certain chemicals, and observe a change in behavior. But you can't do that with people. Furthermore, behavior is one thing. But the mind -- human consciousness -- is more than the physical organ of the brain. When the doctors prescribe medication to rectify a "chemical imbalance" in your brain, they aren't actually preforming a measurement. And what's more, after the medication is administered, there's no objective test to determine if the treatment is effective. How do you measure depression? What are the units? You've got nothing but a subjective assessment. "This feels better." Or "This does not." At the end, microdosing is no more scientific than healing crystals, religion, or taking a walk in the park. And yet, I absolutely believe a walk in nature is better than a chemically induced lobotomy. |
